May 25, 2025 – The NCCABC extends our sincere congratulations to Jacob Caouette.
This marks a significant achievement in Jacob’s legal journey. Jacob is a lawyer at the Indigenous Law Group, Miller Titerle Company, that is dedicated to advancing justice and advocacy for Indigenous peoples.
He works across their Business, Workplace, and Indigenous Law Groups, and gained experiences such as co-counsel at the BC Human Rights Tribunal. Jacob is interested in the nexus of Indigenous and business law and building up Indigenous Nations and peoples through economic development.
Jacob was elected to the role of Board of Director’s President of the Native Courtworker and Counselling Association of B.C., succeeding the recognized former President Hugh Braker, K.C., who dedicated over 25 years to the organization. Jacob plays a pivotal role by serving on various committees and leading key initiatives that advanced the association’s mission.
He is a proud graduate of the Peter A. Allard School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree specializing in Indigenous Legal Studies. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of the Fraser Valley. As the first person from his Nation, Sts’ailes, to practice law, Jacob was recently part of the legal team that helped secure a historic coordination agreement for child and family services between his Nation, Canada, and British Columbia.
