May 14, 2026 – The Native Courtworker and Counselling Association of British Columbia (NCCABC) proudly congratulates Flora Raynes on being named the recipient of the 2026 Department of Justice Canada Victims and Survivors of Crime Week Excellence in Victim Service Award.
For more than 33 years, Flora has dedicated herself to supporting Indigenous people navigating the justice system with compassion, dignity, cultural understanding, and unwavering advocacy. As a Senior Native Court Worker, she has empowered countless victims and survivors of crime by ensuring they are heard, respected, and supported through often difficult and complex experiences.
Flora’s work has gone far beyond advocacy alone. She has helped Indigenous survivors find strength and hope within systems that too often feel overwhelming or unsafe. Through her trauma-informed and culturally grounded approach, she has strengthened trust, elevated standards of care, and inspired meaningful change within justice and community services.
Known for her integrity, generosity, and deep commitment to community wellness, Flora continues to be a trusted voice, mentor, and advocate for Indigenous families, youth, Elders, and survivors across British Columbia.
We are incredibly proud to congratulate Flora on this well-deserved national recognition and honour her lifelong commitment to justice, healing, and Indigenous community well-being.
Congratulations, Flora, and thank you for the extraordinary impact you continue to make in the lives of so many.
