We believe addictions are illnesses. They affect people in all areas of their lives – physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual. We do not view addiction as a matter of lack of morals, intellect or willpower. Nor do we view addiction as a mental disorder.
Addiction to alcohol and drugs is a disease that can be treated. We provide help for addicts, co-dependents, and their families who are suffering from the injustices of addiction. Our Alcohol and Drug Program provides a quality service that helps Indigenous people achieve a healthier and satisfying life free from alcohol and drug use. We are part of an overall system of care that includes Detoxification, Treatment, Residential Programs such as Recovery Houses, other Outpatient Services, Aftercare, Maintenance, Educational Programs, referrals to Courtworkers plus other justice related personnel and other services.
The goal of our care is to decrease substance use and misuse, improve health, decrease legal problems, improve thinking and social functioning, and improve self-esteem and coping abilities. We also want to increase occupational and educational opportunities for you. We know recovery is a life-long, day-to-day process. This process requires hard work, commitment, self-awareness and honesty. We are here to help you succeed in your recovery process.

Our Alcohol and Drug Program can help many people achieve a healthier and satisfying life free from alcohol and drug use on an outpatient basis. This program is an intensive, outpatient, alcohol, drug and co-dependency treatment program. If inpatient care is appropriate and medically needed, we will make a professional and responsible referral for you.
We assess each client’s current situation as accurately and comprehensively as possible. We will do a thorough match for each individual so that the most appropriate treatment is achieved. We recognize and fulfill each client’s needs by helping them attain a thorough understanding of themselves and the recovery process while providing a safe, supportive environment. Our primary goals are to have each client understand and accept the disease of addiction, his or her powerlessness over it, and that recovery is possible through abstinence and knowledge. Each client is supported in developing his or her own personal wellness plan based on the Medicine Wheel Concept. This allows the client to integrate and apply their own recovery journey to their lives, therefore making the process more meaningful to the client.
The measure of success for the program is long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Outpatient treatment clients are educated and treated so that they can re-enter society and lead responsible, successful drug and alcohol free lives by using the tools of recovery.
