September 30, 2022 – September 30 marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the Indigenous children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
Native Courtworker and Counselling Association of British Columbia deeply values the importance of this day, particularly to the Indigenous children, youth, and families we serve.
Every year on September 30th, we encourage everyone across Canada to wear orange and participate in Orange Shirt Day events to recognize and raise awareness of the history and legacies of the residential school system in Canada, and to honour the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities.
